One question I keep getting is “Is Pacific Vice dead?” The answer to that is, no. I just haven’t gotten it to the point where I can move forward. I’m currently working on a rewrite and I’m doing some changes. If I’m going to reboot this, I might as well do it right. What worked with the 1st one is the fact it was fun to make. It was my first completed short.
Fast forward to a couple of years, and the lack of commitment from the two main leads. I’m currently in the process of moving on. There is a very talented actor, I have in mind for the lead. He’s agreed to do one of the featured supportive characters, but I think he’s the guy that would be great for the lead.
Putting a team together is tough because there is so much commitment from these actors. It should fall together soon. It would be nice to be able to collaborate with another dedicated person aside from our core group. To bring in some fresh ideas, or a different perspective.
